My Braces Diary (January)
I should have started this from the first day I went to the orthodontist. A month had passed since my first visit. Oh well, better late than never.
This blog will record my progress.

Before this date, I have been looking around and asking anyone I know who had braces or is currently wearing one. I want to know how much it is here in Singapore. My sister is wearing one but she's in Manila. I was first planning to get it from Manila but after a talk with my dentist friend, I decided to have it here. It's more expensive definitely but I guess, it's less of a hassle and the orthodontist can definitely monitor my progress.
Anyway, Sha and I have been going to this dentist in Marine Parade for quite some time now and infront of that dental clinic is Dr Loh's dental surgery clinic. On this day, I visited Dr Loh. He explained all the info I need, from what they will do, what they will remove, what they will attach and how much it will cost. I was very satisfied with the explanation that on that day itself, I decided to start with the program.
Dr Loh took a mould of my teeth then put separators on my molars. This is to make way for the molar rings (is that how they call it? hehe).
No pain felt yet but I was always touching the separators with my tongue. I was so excited that I'm finally made a step to correct my teeth.

They placed the 4 rings on my molars, 2 on the upper molars, one on each side and 2 on the lower molars, also one on each side.
I'm having a hard eating using my molars. But it's okay, my disposition is still on the good side.

Dr Loh already placed the brackets on all of my teeth except for the 4 teeth that they will extract. This extraction is needed in order to properly align my teeth.
It felt a bit weird. My mouth felt full. All of my teeth started feeling sensitive and all I can use to eat are my molars.

Painful day. Dr. Loh extract 2 teeth, upper right and lower right. Actually, I can bear the pain but the thing is, I came back to the office after the extraction. I have to work and think of my bleeding gum at the same time. Surreal.
